What units do these quilting calculators use?

The tools use inches and yards by default, with quilting terms such as WOF, ΒΌ inch seam allowance, 2.5 inch binding strips, and 42/44 inch quilting cotton.

Are the fabric results exact?

No. They are planning estimates. Round up when buying fabric, especially for directional prints, shrinkage, fussy cutting, or cutting mistakes.
