WOF strips run the full width of the fabric. Jelly rolls typically contain 40 strips of 2.5" × WOF.
Formula
Strips per yard = 36 ÷ strip width. Total yards = (total strips × strip width) ÷ 36.
Example calculation
From one yard of 44" wide fabric, you can cut fifteen 2.5" strips (WOF) or nine 4" strips.
